Across The Line is the latest West End production from The Pauline Quirke Academy. Over half of the Sunday’s every year a team of enthusiastic children take over His Majesty’s Theatre in the West End to perform this fantastic, custom show.

I was brought in at the beginning of this new show to enhance the sound & overall production values of the show. With 44 physical headset mics, each of which is worn by 3 different children of drastically varying ages & voices (effectively 132 microphones) and only a single run through before performing the show to over 1000 parents & family, it was no mean feat to design this show in a way which was clean and flawless every single time.

No two shows are the same with different stagings, accents, pauses, dance numbers…etc, so the challenge to create a way for operators to achieve a clean show week-on-week without missing potentially the only one or two lines that child may ever say on a West End stage was a huge pressure but also a huge privilege.
